An Update, because we aren’t total slackers …

I haven’t got much in the way of writing accomplishments this summer to brag about, but I’m slogging my way through a novella manuscript project — quietly and painfully — at the pace of congealed blood, so there’s that. However, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy with other type stuff in the it’s-fucking-fall department.

There’s wildflower seed collecting and sowing; general garden cleanup, which can be exhausting; as well as the great draining of the pond, though I have to wait for the frogs to migrate back to the woods first. I’m also tackling a bathroom remodel on my own this time — tile and everything — so I’m kinda nervous but looking forward to that disaster. It’ll probably take months because the day job just takes up too much valuable doin’ time.

orangeI’m currently reading this and it’s amazingly good if you are into reading about mental illness as it relates to the homeless hobo-teenager dilemma prevalent in this country. I highly recommend it for its brutality and its honesty and its general creepy surrealism.

I’m totally jazzed about this.Thomas-Ligotti-Penguin-cover

il_fullxfull.644056250_a994And I bought this over on Etsy because Halloween is my holiday and I support artists of all kinds. Speaking of Halloween, I started a little experiment over on Facebook, and since people seem to be enjoying it, I will be moving it over here in October in the days leading up to Halloween. It’s a flash fiction vintage pictorial mashup titled Barbara, and it will span over a few weeks, ending with a longer flash fiction horror story on October 31st, so stay tuned for that bit of creepy fun. A&A also has a stellar week of horror flash on the schedule as well.

Until then, Happy Ragweed and Leaves Season to all.
